Senior Support Worker – Children’s Home
Chard, Somerset
£30,160 + £43.27 per sleep-in and generous attendance bonus
I am looking for a Senior Support Worker to work in a new service, opening shortly, that will provide a safe home to children and young people with mental health issues and emotional and behavioural disorders. The home is part of a charity helping to transform the lives of young people and adults across the UK.
In this role you will:
- Supervise Support Workers to ensure that disadvantaged young people are cared for in line with legislative, contractual and inspection framework requirements
- Be a positive role model to young people – building and creating mutual trust and respect
- Produce, maintain and distribute house paperwork to ensure relevant information is recorded accurately and is available
- Create and produce activities to occupy and develop young people
- Coach, support and develop Support Workers
- Provide basic advice and skills to young people on managing their finances and other everyday life skills
For this rewarding role you must have:
- At least 12 months residential care experience with children and young people
- QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- The ability work on a rota basis (2 days on/4 days off) and undertake sleep-in duties
- A full UK driving licence Essential
